Letter: Term limits might restore honesty

Newsday’s editorial, “The corruption parade goes on” [Dec. 1], hit the mark on Albany corruption. The leaders in Albany will never agree to term limits, but it’s time the state constitution were amended. No politician should serve endlessly in office.
It’s human nature to become so entrenched, so insular, that influence-peddling becomes the norm. Term limits might restore some honesty to the system, and constituents will feel their votes really do matter.
