Letter: Trump’s message could endanger nation

All of a sudden, the term politically correct has become the way to disparage those who care for politeness, civility and the feelings of others [“N.C. restroom law makes sense,” Letters, April 22].
When Donald Trump rails that political correctness will be the downfall of America, he is — seemingly successfully — appealing to the worst instincts of many people. Too bad, because it’s the message he is delivering that will, perhaps, indeed lead to our downfall.
