News media go too easy on Democrats

While the media were granted freedom of the press in the First Amendment, they have for many years been derelict in their role as watchdogs on our politicians and others in authority [“Trump undermines media’s function,” Letters, March 2].

Over the last 40-plus years, they have merely been an extension of the liberal Democratic Party.

If any voter or citizen can deny this, he or she must be uninformed or a low-information voter.

It is obvious that until President Donald Trump came into politics, the media have only gone after conservative views and have given liberals and Democratic politicians a free ride.

Our last president was never held accountable, nor was Bill Clinton, for all the damage they caused. While the GOP isn’t any better, the Democratic party has done more damage since Lyndon Johnson.
