Bidding wars drove median home prices to a record in the third quarter of this year, Newsday reported.

Prices jumped to a record $750,000 during the July-to-September period, according to a report released last week by real estate brokerage Douglas Elliman and appraisal firm Miller Samuel.

The firms report Hamptons and North Fork prices separately. Median prices in the Hamptons reached $2 million, while prices on the North Fork surpassed $1 million for a second straight quarter, data showed.

Of nearly 5,500 closed sales between July and August, over 2,500 closed for $750,000 or less, according to data from OneKey MLS, the multiple listing service that covers Long Island.

In Suffolk County, the communities with the most sales at or below this price point were Lindenhurst (87 sales), Bay Shore (72), Shirley (72), Ronkonkoma (64) and Huntington Station (53), data showed. The Nassau communities with the most sales were Levittown (62), Massapequa (49), Hicksville (45), Freeport (43) and Valley Stream (42).
