East Northport house for sale near cemetery is 'hidden gem'

The recently renovated four-bedroom, two-bathroom house with a walkout basement is on the market for $699,999, listing agent Janette Pulice confirmed. Taxes on the 0.12-acreparcel, which is in the Northport-East Northport Union Free school district, total $15,166.

"The size of it looks deceiving," Pulice said of the facade. "Once the buyers go in, they're like, 'oh wow, this is very spacious.' "

The house is 1,564 square feet and is in "move-in, turnkey condition," Pulice said. There are two bedrooms on the main level and two on the third level. The basement is finished, but there are no bathrooms on the ground level, she said.

The kitchen and bathrooms underwent renovations within the past year, Pulice said. 

Located on Vernon Valley Road, the house is neighbored by churches and across the road from St. Philip Neri Cemetery. Pulice noted the address is also close to the East Northport Public Library, a train station and local businesses, including restaurants, a gym and a barbershop.

Pulice initially listed the property for $724,000. Eventually, based on feedback from buyers about the home's location, Pulice and her clients dropped the price $25,000 to the current listing price.

"It's getting plenty of action, I think it's definitely priced to move," said Pulice.

Pulice and the sellers have accepted two offers on the house since the initial listing, but each has fallen through for various, buyer-specific circumstances, she said.

"To me, you know, it's a hidden gem," Pulice said.
