An 864-square-foot home in Hampton Bays is on the market for $750,000. The taxes are $7,371.

This is "not at all your typical Hamptons beach cottage," said Mariana Nunes, of Compass. She is co-listing the property with Bridget Terry.

The home was reimagined in 2015, inspired by the architecture style of Frank Lloyd Wright. With one bedroom and one bathroom, it sits on Bittersweet Avenue.

"I feel like there's a lot of cookie cutter, everything's white, all hydrangeas in front," Terry said, referring to the collection of homes in this area. "There's not really this kind of design-forward house."

Built in 1950, the home sits on a 0.46-acre lot. The layout is loft-style, and the rooms are situated in a way that maximizes the space, Nunes said.

"It is designed as an indoor-outdoor layout," she said. "It has an entire wall of doors that connects to the patio, so that extends the house."

There are 10-foot ceilings, windows on all four sides and moving paneled walls that "enclose two sweeping alcoves," she added.

The home also features several built-in cabinets and shelves, Terry said. Other notable details include an outdoor shower, central air conditioning and a backyard patio. The home is less than a mile from Great Peconic Bay. The property is in the Hampton Bays Public Schools district.

So far this year, 43 homes have sold in Hampton Bays, according to data from OneKey MLS. They have ranged in closing price from $680,000 to $3.7 million. Only seven homes have sold below $800,000 in Hampton Bays so far this year, and they were categorized as ranches, contemporary-style builds or cottages, the data shows.

This listing joins several other homes of similar footprints that have hit the market on Long Island since March.

There is room for expansion, Nunes said, including the addition of a pool.

"It's not going to take a lot of maintenance," Terry said. "It's really the perfect escape because of that, and because of the smaller size."
