Solid and spotted koi imported from Japan live in the largest of three ponds on one 0.95-acre property in Melville. The two smaller ponds are home to goldfish, said listing agent Gabriel Simoes.
The fish are to be included in the sale of the three-bedroom, four-bathroom house that overlooks the ponds, said Simoes, of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty. The Roundtree Drive property, which falls within the Half Hollow Hills Central School District, is on the market for $2.15 million. Taxes on the parcel total $25,687.
"It's nothing like you've ever seen, when you step into the backyard," Simoes said.

Each pond has a waterfall — the biggest one has two, Simoes said — and there are additional pond-less water features on the property. He described the backyard, which also has a pool with a hot tub, a covered grilling area and a fire pit surrounded by built-in stone seating, as an "oasis."
Inside, Simoes said, natural light fills the space. Vaulted ceilings create more space than can be shown in photos, and to turn on the artificial lights is often unnecessary there, he said.

Stone details throughout the home — a stone fireplace in the family room, a stone shower, tiled floors — complement neutral-toned paint. The house, which has a two-car garage, has a natural gas heating system and central air conditioning, according to the listing.

Among the home's custom elements are a stair railing that looks like tree branches warped and woven together. The Utah-made piece, made of twisted juniper, is reflective of the seller's connection to nature and affinity for travel and skiing, Simoes said.
"Once you step into the house," Simoes said, "it's like a breath of fresh air."
