A historical estate in Old Brookville is on the market for nearly $5.9 million. The taxes are $78,767.

The nine-bedroom, eight-bathroom house was built around 1924. "There have only been three owners in that entire period," said listing agent Lisa Heaney, of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty.

"The historic charm and all of the architectural details have been beautifully preserved, and they've modernized it, so it's a perfect blend of old and new," she said.

For example, the kitchen was remodeled about 15 years ago, Heaney said, but the rest of the home's layout has remained "the way it was."
