Through a telescope stationed on the flat rooftop of an expansive house in Water Mill, private equity health care investor Eric Moskow has studied stars and planets with his 2½-year-old daughter.
"For night observation of that on the rooftop deck, it's so much better than anything else I've ever seen," said Moskow, also a serial entrepreneur. "It's crazy good."
And yet, the 10-bedroom, 12½-bathroom main house and adjacent pool house on a 2-acre parcel are on the market for $32 million as Moskow considers a move to a considerably larger property.
"We would be staying there, quite frankly," said Moskow, attributing the prospective relocation to business success. "I think we want to move onto an oceanfront compound."

Moskow and his wife, Regina, had been renting the property for nine months with the option to buy until they closed on it in February for $20 million, he said. During the rental period, the pair added two bathrooms, created a glass-enclosed wine room in the basement and made exterior improvements to lighting, decking and landscaping, Eric said.
Because the modern design deviates from the East End's cedar-shingle standard, the house requires very little maintenance, he said.
"It's a fortress," he said, crediting the home's durability to Louis Paolino, of Paulino Development.

The house is built of largely steel, glass and cement, said listing agent Vincent Horcasitas, of Saunders & Associates. Inside, Horcasitas said, the volume of the house is particularly striking.
"You have these soaring ceilings," said Horcasitas, who estimated some of the ceilings were 32 feet high.
In the primary suite alone, Horcasitas noted, there are two bathrooms with their own showers and soaking tubs, vanities and closets.
Moskow described the house as "extremely comfortable."
"It's very large, it's wide open, it's a clean palette, it's modern," Moskow said.

There, the Moskows have hosted their family — four adult children, two toddlers and eight grandchildren — and philanthropic events.
"We've had some pretty epic parties there," Eric said.
The home would be sold fully furnished with French company Roche Bobois furniture, Moskow said.
Moskow said he also had plans for an expansion of the pool house, which has a bathroom but no bedrooms. The plans would be available to a buyer, Moskow said.
"The land is incredible," Moskow said. "The views are incredible. The neighbors are great. It's probably one of the nicest roads in the Hamptons — no traffic, no annoyance — the smell of the water is in the air at all times."
