'60 Minutes' report: A-Rod associates leaked documents on Cervelli, Braun
"60 Minutes" is reporting Friday that members of Alex Rodriguez's "inner circle" leaked documents implicating Milwaukee’s Ryan Braun and Yankees catcher Francisco Cervelli in the Biogenesis performance-enhancing drugs investigation.
The people involved reportedly gave the documents to Yahoo! Sports shortly after the Biogenesis scandal broke in late January. Braun and Cervelli were not named in the initial Biogenesis report in the Miami New Times.
Rodriguez's attorney, David Cornwell, denied the charge in a statement to "60 Minutes."
"The allegations are untrue and are another attempt to harm Alex -- this time by driving a wedge between Alex and other players in the game," Cornwell said. "While Alex focuses on baseball and repeatedly states that he is going to respect the appeal process, the drumbeat of false allegations continues."
