AL report: O's rally to beat Red Sox

Orioles 7, Red Sox 6

Rhyne Hughes singled in the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th inning Sunday and Matt Wieters followed with a two-run single as Baltimore snapped a 10-game losing streak against the Red Sox with its third win of the season.

Miguel Tejada added a two-run homer for Baltimore, which overcame a 4-1 deficit to avoid its fourth straight series sweep against the Red Sox.

White Sox 3, Mariners 2

Paul Konerko hit a tiebreaking drive in the eighth inning for his major league-best eighth homer and host Chicago completed a three-game series sweep.

After consecutive days of game-ending homers by Andruw Jones and Alex Rios, Konerko connected against Brandon League (2-1) to put the White Sox ahead 3-2.

Rangers 8, Tigers 4

Michael Young had three hits and drove in five runs and David Murphy homered for host Texas. Colby Lewis (3-0) threw 50 pitches and allowed eight baserunners in the first two innings before settling down, getting 16 consecutive outs from the second through the seventh.

Royals 4, Twins 3

Jose Guillen homered and drove in two runs to support Brian Bannister and help host Kansas City avoid a three-game sweep. Guillen's home run was his seventh.

Justin Morneau hit his fourth homer and had a run-scoring double in the ninth, but the Twins stranded 12 runners and couldn't overcome a less-than-stellar outing by Kevin Slowey (2-2).

Athletics 11, Indians 0

Eric Chavez hit a two-run double and also singled in a run to help Gio Gonzalez win for the first time in three starts for host Oakland. Eric Patterson homered, hit a two-run triple and finished with three RBIs for the A's.

Justin Masterson (0-3) allowed seven runs in four-plus innings for Cleveland, which hasn't won a series in Oakland since July 29-31, 2002.
