Alfonso Soriano would accept trade to Yankees, reports say

While Alfonso Soriano has veto power over any trade, he has given Chicago Cubs president Theo Epstein a list of teams he would accept a trade to, and the Yankees are one of them, according to multiple reports.
The trade deadline is still one week away, and other teams are reportedly interested in the 37-year-old outfielder. Soriano said he wouldn't turn down the Yankees but is waiting so the Cubs can get the best offer, reports say.
Soriano was a Yankee from 1999-2003. He mostly played second base in New York but has since transitioned to the outfield. The 37-year-old was traded to Texas as part of the Alex Rodriguez deal in 2004.
This season, Soriano is hitting .254 with 17 home runs and 57 RBIs through 93 games.
The Yankees are in need of another righthanded bat. The addition would likely push Vernon Wells to a backup or designated hitter role as Soriano would assume leftfield.
