2,007: Fans who showed up to see Brian Wilson and his signature beard make his first rehab appearance this week for Rancho Cucamonga, the Class A affiliate for the Dodgers. The turnout was double what the Quakes usually expect for a home game. Wilson needed only eight pitches, striking out one.
630: Career home runs by Ken Griffey Jr., who was inducted this weekend into the Mariners Hall of Fame. That ranks sixth on the all-time list, and only 17 behind his former Seattle teammate, Alex Rodriguez.
13: Pitchers to beat all 30 major-league teams, and Dan Haren became the latest to join the club with Friday’s win over the Phillies. Barry Zito and A.J. Burnett are the only other active pitchers on the list. Kyle Lohse has 29 but failed to beat the Twins earlier this season.
7: Number of radio shows for Jack Clark, who was fired late Friday by his St. Louis radio station for accusing Albert Pujols of using performance-enhancing drugs. Clark, who hit 66 homers in three seasons for the Cardinals, claimed he was told by a former trainer. But the trainer denied the claims, as did Pujols, who threatened legal action.
2: Weeks since season-ending ankle surgery for Tim Hudson, who was injured when the Mets’ Eric Young Jr. accidentally stepped on his foot when the Braves’ pitcher was covering first base. Hudson was expected to have his cast and staples removed from his lower leg, but as a free agent, his future with Atlanta is uncertain.
