Brett Gardner, who has been on the DL since April 18 with a right elbow strain, had five at-bats Tuesday in extended spring games in Tampa and is expected to take BP Wednesday. Joe Girardi said Gardner will play a few games in a row in Tampa, but the manager hesitated when asked if Gardner might return this weekend against the Mets. “It’s possible, but we’ll have to see how he does,” Girardi said.
