Brett Gardner takes batting practice

Brett Gardner, who saw his first action since April as a late-inning defensive replacement Wednesday, took batting practice with the team before Thursday night’s game. But Joe Girardi isn’t ready to declare the outfielder a player with no restrictions. “I don’t think we’ll know until we go through a few days,” he said.
