Me? I prefer the autobiography part. Long's life story is one of perseverance. He played in the minor leagues for 10 years, reaching the Triple-A level from 1992 through 1996 but never getting a sniff of the big leagues while in the Royals organization, and then he coached in the minors for another 10 years before the Yankees promoted him to major-league hitting coach for the 2007 season.

The hitting stuff is pretty cool, too, though, and you read it knowing that he has established himself as one of the industry's best at what he does.
