Contest: The Mets, from top to bottom
I just finished Amazin' Avenue Annual 2010, from the gang over at Amazin' Avenue, and I really enjoyed it. It features interesting analysis of the entire organization, from the major-league players through the entire minor-league system.
The 2010 preview stuff is a little dated, obviously, but in the back of the book reside more evergeen features on stuff like Tony Bernazard's reign of error and the importance of baserunning. My favorite piece, however, focused is called, "When the Mets Got Good Again," and features write-ups on the four Mets teams that rebounded from 90-or-more-loss seasons to post winning records.
This Mets team, of course, is trying to become the fifth such club, and they're making an entertaining run at it.
Want my copy of the book? I'll give it to the first person who e-mails me - at firstname.lastname@example.org - with the correct answer to this question:
Name the four Mets teams that, indeed, put up winning records after losing 90 or more games the previous season.
UPDATE, 1:43 p.m.: We have a winner! Expatriate Mets fans knew that the seasons in question were 1975, 1984, 1997 and 2005. See you later at the Stadium.
