PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Mets third baseman David Wright said he's playing in a minor league game on Tuesday afternoon. It will be his first game action since straining his left intercostal muscle at the World Baseball Classic roughly two weeks ago. Wright will serve as the designated hitter though he's unsure of how many at-bats he'll get.

The Mets captain has made good progress the last few days, going from fielding drills, to full batting practice, and now a game. Barring no setbacks, Wright would likely be ready for Opening Day.
