For the third time this week, and second straight day, Derek Jeter was the designated hitter, a position the shortstop has long expressed not being a fan of. Yankees manager Joe Girardi said it's because of the Yankees being in a stretch fo 20 straight games without a day off.
"It's really hard to give him a day off with the way he's swinging the bat," Girardi said. "Physically, he's fine."
