Former Brewers pitching rospect Edrian Robinson suspended 80 games for positive drug test

Former Milwaukee Brewers pitching prospect Edrian Robinson was suspended for 80 games on Friday by Major League Baseball following a positive test for the performance-enhancing substance Boldenone under the minor league drug program.

A right-hander who turns 22 on March 1, Robinson was signed by the Brewers in October 2020 and released last Sept. 25.

He was 0-0 with a 7.94 ERA last year in two starts and 15 relief appearances with the Arizona Complex League Brewers, leaving him 3-1 with a 7.90 ERA in 34 games over three seasons at that rookie level league.

Robinson was fourth player disciplined this year under the minor league program.

Fifteen players were disciplined last year under the minor league program and Milwaukee Brewers right-hander J.C. Mejía was suspended 162 games under the major league program.
