Friday reading: Phil Hughes, David Robertson, the Mets and Ozzie Guillen

Phil Hughes will travel to St. Louis on Monday, to get checked for thoracic outlet syndrome. If he has it, Brian Cashman told reporters on Thursday, then Hughes is as good as done for the season.

--The Yankees crushed the White Sox to even the seires at 2-2. Derek Jeter and Mark Teixeira both received the day off. 

--David Robertson's family suffered a scare, as a tornado hit his hometown of Tuscaloosa, Ala.

--It's likely that Ozzie Guillen receives a suspension today, in addition to a fine, for tweeting during Wednesday night's White Sox-Yankees game. 

--A.J. Burnett and Larry Rothschild have been a good match so far, Erik Boland writes.

--The Mets finally lost. Mike Pelfrey will make his start tonight in Philadelphia. The Mets are very familiar with oblique injuries, David Lennon writes.

--Looking at the standings this morning, the wackiest division has to be the AL Central. With the three supposed favorites - Detroit, the White Sox and Minnesota - all under .500, and the Indians a stellar 15-8? The three underperforming favorites have to be pleased that the runaway team is a club that can't be taken seriously. At least, not yet. We'll see how the Tigers do in Cleveland this weekend.
