Matt Wieters hit a tiebreaking sacrifice fly in the eighth inning to atone for an earlier error as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Detroit Tigers, 6-3, Friday night.

The game marked the reunion of Tigers starter Armando Galarraga and umpire Jim Joyce. It was the first time they had been involved in the same game since Joyce's missed call with two out in the ninth cost Galarraga a perfect game June 2.

Joyce, who worked the plate, was applauded by the Comerica Park crowd when he was announced before the game. But that was the only sign anything unusual was happening. Neither Joyce nor Galarraga spoke before the game, and both had downplayed the situation earlier in the week.

Galarraga allowed three runs and four hits in seven innings. Any hope for another run at perfection ended quickly - Luke Scott hit a leadoff single in the second for Baltimore.

Rays 9, Blue Jays 8

Tampa Bay blew a seven-run lead, but Evan Longoria scored the go-ahead run on a throwing error by shortstop Yunel Escobar in the ninth inning.

B.J. Upton and Ben Zobrist hit solo homers for the Rays, who won for just the second time in six games.

Tampa Bay led 8-1 in the fourth before the Blue Jays rallied.

Jose Bautista's second homer of the game, a two-run shot in the seventh, tied it at 8.

Indians 2, Twins 0

Fausto Carmona pitched a three-hitter for his first shutout in more than two years, slowing Minnesota's September surge and leading host Cleveland over the AL Central-leading Twins.

Harang headed to bullpen

Aaron Harang lost his spot in the Reds' rotation Friday, perhaps the final move for his career in Cincinnati. He was sidelined by back spasms for two months. In two starts since he was activated off the disabled list, Harang gave up seven runs and 12 hits in 61/3 innings.

The Reds are trying to set up their rotation for a stretch run to make the playoffs, and Harang is the odd man out. The 32-year-old pitcher is in the final year of his contract, making $12.5 million. There's a club option for next season at $12.75 million with a $2-million buyout, making it unlikely he will be back.

Edinson Volquez will take Harang's spot and start Saturday against Pittsburgh.
