Gregor Blanco made a diving catch in the seventh inning Wednesday night to preserve Matt Cain's perfect game, the first in the San Francisco Giants' 129-year history.
Mike Baxter made a terrific catch in the seventh inning on June 1 to save Johan Santana's no-hitter, the first in the Mets' 50-plus year history.
Both are significant plays in their own right, be in the context of the game, the franchise and the history of the game. Although, perfect game No. 22 is more impactful that no-hitter no. 292 (or close it).
