Cole Hamels pitched seven impressive innings and Ryan Howard and Jayson Werth homered Friday night as the host Philadelphia Phillies beat the Boston Red Sox, 5-1.

The NL East-leading Phillies (26-15) are back to a season-high 11 games over .500, but it may have been a costly victory. Jimmy Rollins left the game in the sixth with a mild right calf strain, and he's day-to-day.

"It's not as bad as I felt it the last time," said Rollins, hopeful he'll miss only a few games. He missed 29 games with an injured right calf before returning to the lineup Monday.

Hamels (5-2) allowed one run and three hits, striking out eight to outduel John Lackey (4-3).

Astros 2, Rays 1

Hunter Pence broke a tie at 1 with an RBI single in the sixth inning and Brett Myers (3-3) yielded six hits and struck out seven in seven innings as host Houston snapped Tampa Bay's winning streak at six games.

Reds 7, Indians 4

Laynce Nix homered and had a tiebreaking double in the sixth inning for visiting Cincinnati. Jonny Gomes and Brandon Phillips also homered for the Reds.

Shin-Soo Choo homered twice for Cleveland, which has lost five straight and fell a season-worst 10 games below .500.

Orioles 5, Nationals 3

David Hernandez allowed one hit in 51/3 innings and Adam Jones homered for visiting Baltimore.

Rangers 2, Cubs 1

Vladimir Guerrero and Nelson Cruz had run-scoring doubles for host Texas.

Braves 7, Pirates 0

Jason Heyward homered and drove in three runs to support eight dominating innings by Tim Hudson (5-1) as visiting Atlanta won its fourth straight. Hudson allowed only three singles.
