Retired Yankees slugger Hideki Matsui is going back to the minor leagues. To pitch batting practice.
Matsui will toss BP to Yankees minor leaguers playing for the Staten Island Yankees. He's scheduled to throw batting practice Saturday, Monday and Tuesday at Richmond County Bank Ballpark.
Batting practice begins around 4 p.m. on Saturday, but gates are only open to fans at 6 p.m., so it's unlikely Matsui fans will be able to get a glimpse of Godzilla.
