So much for Ivan Nova’s quick recovery.

The righthander, on the disabled list since April 27 with inflammation of the right triceps, was scheduled to start Game 2 of Monday’s doubleheader in Cleveland.

However, Nova “felt something in his left side” while playing catch Sunday morning, according to manager Joe Girardi.

This is a new injury, though Girardi couldn’t say what it was or how long Nova would be out.

Girardi said righthander David Phelps will start Monday’s first game and lefthander Vidal Nuño, 2-0 with a 1.54 ERA in four starts for Scranton before being called up April 27, will start the second. Nuño pitched three scoreless innings in his major-league debut April 29 against the Astros and has not pitched since.
