Edwin Jackson pitched his first complete game since his no-hitter last year, and Juan Pierre had four hits to lead the visiting White Sox to a 5-0 win over the Tigers Saturday.

Jackson (6-7) allowed nine hits in his third career shutout, striking out two and walking two. It was his first complete game since June 25, 2010, when Jackson, then with the Arizona Diamondbacks, held Tampa Bay hitless in a 1-0 win.

Jackson threw 149 pitches in that game. He needed only 101 Saturday.

Nationals 5, Braves 2: In Atlanta, John Lannan (6-6) gave up two runs in 52/3 innings and had his first two hits of the season.

Orioles 6, Indians 5: Alfredo Simon went seven strong innings and Nick Markakis homered for Baltimore.

Twins 4, Royals 3: Michael Cuddyer singled home the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and Joe Nathan did his job as the new closer for Minnesota.

Angels, Athletics split. Scott Sizemore singled with two outs in the bottom of the 10th in host Oakland's 4-3 victory in Game 2. In the first game, Jered Weaver (12-4) kept Oakland hitless until the fifth and won his sixth straight decision, 4-2.

Padres 11, Giants 3: Jesus Guzman and Orlando Hudson each hit three-run homers for host San Diego.

Cardinals 4, Reds 1: St. Louis' Albert Pujols hit a three-run homer -- his second in two days and 20th of the season -- and Chris Carpenter went eight innings to improve to 14-4 in his career against the Reds.

Marlins 13, Cubs 3:Mike Stanton hit two homers (20 on the season) and Javier Vazquez struck out 10 in Chicago.

Diamondbacks 3, Dodgers 2: Brandon Allen hit a three-run homer in his first start back in the majors to back Ian Kennedy (10-3) in Phoenix.

Astros 6, Pirates 4: Humberto Quintero hit the go-ahead single in a three-run eighth inning for host Houston.
