Jackson (4-4) gave up one run, four hits and a walk in 61/3 innings. He retired the first 12 batters he faced and permitted only one runner past first base through six innings.

Red Sox 8, Braves 4: Will Middlebrooks had a solo homer and he drove in two runs as host Boston won for the eighth time in 10 games. Franklin Morales (six innings, two earned runs) gave Boston another decent start in place of Josh Beckett.

Dodgers 3, Angels 1: Chris Capuano (9-2) outdueled Ervin Santana with seven gritty innings for visiting Los Angeles.

Reds 6, Twins 0:Johnny Cueto (9-3) remained unbeaten in June by pitching seven innings and driving in a pair of runs for host Cincinnati.

Cardinals 8, Royals 2: Matt Holliday was 4-for-5 with a pair of RBIs and Allen Craig added a two-run homer for visiting St. Louis.

Blue Jays 7, Marlins 1: Edwin Encarnacion hit a tiebreaking homer, his 21st, in the top of the ninth and Colby Rasmus had a grand slam later in the inning as Toronto handed host Miami its sixth straight loss.

Rockies 11, Rangers 7: Tyler Colvin and Chris Nelson had consecutive two-out, two-run singles in an early outburst for visiting Colorado and the Rockies held on to end Texas' seven-game winning streak.

Pirates 4, Tigers 1: Brad Lincoln allowed two hits and a run in six innings and Andrew McCutchen hit a three-run homer for host Pittsburgh.

Astros 8, Indians 1: Rookie Dallas Keuchel pitched a complete game and J.D Martinez and Jordan Schafer hit consecutive homers for host Houston.
