Joel Zumaya says he still has the zoom in his arm
Zumaya says throwing that hard is "overrated" and that he's been focusing more on his curveball and his changeup.
Zumaya agreed to a one-year contract with the Minnesota Twins this week. He last pitched for the Detroit Tigers in June 2010, when he broke his elbow during a delivery on the mound at Target Field. He needed two operations to fix it.
Now he's eager to get started with his former division rivals, who were looking for help in the back of their bullpen.
Zumaya said Thursday on a conference call with reporters that he's feeling "great" and "healthy."
