SAN FRANCISCO -- An odd scene from the Mets' clubhouse after their 2-1 victory over the Giants on Wednesday night:

As players were getting dressed to leave AT&T Park, an angry Jordany Valdespin was holding up a torn-up t-shirt and yelling at his teammates before he stormed into the shower area.

It turned out the rookie had worn a white T-shirt to the ballpark, which is a no-no on the road. So someone cut up the sleeves of the shirt and wrote two messages on it.

On the front, the shirt read: "NY Loves Valdie" with a heart in place of the word "loves".

On the back was Valdespin's No. 1 and "El Hombre" -- Spanish for "The Man."

Valdespin eventually returned to the clubhouse laughing and even wore the t-shirt onto the team bus.
