Kalish, McDonald power Red Sox win over Angels
Ryan Kalish hit his first career grand slam and Clay Buchholz (14-6) pitched seven innings of shutout ball last night to lead the host Boston Red Sox to a 6-0 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.
Darnell McDonald also homered for the Red Sox, hitting one over the Green Monster and through the back windshield of a car parked on the top floor of the garage across Lansdowne Street.
Dustin Pedroia returned after missing 44 games with a broken bone in his left foot. The 2008 AL MVP, playing on his 27th birthday, went 0-for-4 and made a throwing error trying to convert a double play in the fifth inning.

Matt Garza (12-7) pitched seven scoreless innings for his first win since throwing a no-hitter late last month and Evan Longoria came within a homer of the cycle and had three RBIs for host Tampa Bay.
Texas agreed to terms on a minor-league contract with former Met Alex Cora.
