Lincecum rocked for seven runs in loss

Tim Lincecum matched his career-worst performance with seven runs allowed in four-plus innings as the Giants lost, 10-2, to the Cincinnati Reds yesterday in San Francisco.

Lincecum (5-5) allowed seven earned runs for the first time since his rookie year in 2007. He allowed seven hits and walked four and struck out a career-low one batter.

Lincecum has a 7.66 ERA in four starts since throwing 133 pitches in a shutout victory against Oakland last month.

Mike Leake (6-2) pitched eight scoreless innings for the Reds, and even chipped in with his bat, starting a pair of rallies with hits off Lincecum in the third and fifth innings.

Phillies 7, Cubs 1:Chase Utley homered and drove in four runs to back Cliff Lee's eight strong innings for host Philadelphia. Lee (6-5) passed teammate Roy Halladay for the league lead in strikeouts (107).

Diamondbacks 9, Marlins 5: Kelly Johnson's three-run double keyed a six-run fourth as Arizona sent Florida to its ninth loss in 10 games.

Nationals 2, Padres 1: John Lannan pitched effectively into the seventh and Washington won consecutive road games for the first time in a month.

Brewers 6, Cardinals 1:Zack Grienke improved to 6-1, and Prince Fielder hit his 18th homer for host Milwaukee.

Rays 7, Orioles 5:Ben Zobrist had four extra-base hits and scored four runs, including the tiebreaker in the 11th inning for visiting Tampa Bay on a single by Evan Longoria.

Twins 8, Rangers 1: Scott Baker pitched a five-hitter for host Minnesota, which has won eight of its last 11. -- AP
