Longoria homer in 8th leads Rays

Evan Longoria hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the eighth inning and the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Texas Rangers, 5-4, last night.
Trailing by a run, Longoria gave the Rays the lead with his two-out drive off Arthur Rhodes (3-3) after Johnny Damon reached on a bloop single to left that deflected off the glove of shortstop Elvis Andrus.
"He's a big part of the offense," Matt Joyce, who also homered, said of Longoria. "When he's going well, we're going to put up some runs."
White Sox 10, Red Sox 7: Alexei Ramirez tied his career high with four hits, and Philip Humber stymied Boston for seven innings as Chicago won its sixth straight at Fenway Park.
Humber (4-3) allowed four runs, walked one and struck out five in 7 2/3 innings -- the first time in seven starts he has allowed more than three runs.
Alfredo Aceves (2-1) lost for the first time in more than two years.
Indians 6, Blue Jays 3: Mitch Talbot (2-1) won for the first time since April 11 and Grady Sizemore drove in a pair of runs as visiting Cleveland snapped Toronto's four-game winning streak.
Tigers 8, Twins 7: Brennan Boesch broke an eighth-inning tie with a sacrifice fly for host Detroit. Justin Morneau hit two home runs for Minnesota.
Nationals 10, Phillies 2: Danny Espinosa hit a pair of homers and drove in four runs to lead host Washington, which snapped a six-game losing streak against Philadelphia.
Padres 5, Braves 4: Ryan Ludwick (4-for-5) had an RBI single in the three-run seventh and Heath Bell struggled to earn a fourth straight save as visiting San Diego won its season-high fourth straight.
Marlins 5, Diamondbacks 2: Anibal Sanchez (5-1) pitched eight effective innings and drove in two runs as visiting Florida ended Arizona's seven-game winning streak.
Cardinals 4, Giants 3: Skip Schumaker's infield RBI hit capped a three-run eighth inning for host St. Louis. -- AP
