It turns out Manny won't get to be Manny in Arlington after all.
The Texas Rangers released Manny Ramirez on Tuesday. The team had signed the 41-year-old to a minor league contract on July 3.
Ramirez hit .259 with three home runs and 13 RBIs with the team's Triple-A affiliate in Round Rock. He's a career .312 hitter with 555 home runs.
Prior to signing with the Rangers organization, Ramirez had spent the season hitting insanely long home runs in Taiwan.
