The Mets officially announced their disabled list assignments to begin the season. The only new development involve righthander Shaun Marcum, who the team has listed with "right biceps tendinitis."

As you recall, Marcum has been shut down since the middle of March with a shoulder impingement. And as he worked his way back from the delay, he felt discomfort in his neck during a bullpen session.

The Mets placed Marcum on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 22, meaning he's eligible to come off by his first scheduled regular season start on Sunday against the Marlins. Here are the rest of the official DL moves, courtesy of the club:

-- Johan Santana was placed on the 15-Day Disabled List, retroactive to March 22, with a left shoulder capsule tear.

-- Frank Francisco was placed on the 15-Day Disabled List, retroactive to March 22, while he recovers from right elbow surgery.

-- Jenrry Mejia was placed on the 15-day disabled List, retroactive to March 22, with right elbow tendon inflammation.
