Marlins, Vazquez top Rays
Javier Vazquez pitched seven shutout innings in his best start of the season, and the host Florida Marlins defeated cross-state rival Tampa Bay, 5-3, . Vazquez (3-4) limited the Rays to three hits and two walks.
Phillies 2, Rangers 1: Cliff Lee (3-4) threw eight dominant innings against the team he led to the World Series last year and Ryan Howard hit a solo homer for host Philadelphia.
White Sox 9, Dodgers 2: Mark Buehrle threw seven strong innings to become the career victories leader in interleague play, and Paul Konerko drove in three runs for host Chicago. Buehrle (4-3) earned his 24th interleague victory -- breaking his tie with Jamie Moyer.
Cardinals 3, Royals 0: Jake Westbrook (4-3) pitched eight shutout innings and Matt Holliday broke a scoreless tie with a two-run homer in the eighth for visiting St. Louis.
Indians 2, Reds 1: Travis Buck hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh inning to give Josh Tomlin (6-1) and host Cleveland a victory. Buck connected with two outs against Homer Bailey, who took a one-hitter into the seventh before the Reds tied their season-high losing streak at four games.
Orioles 8, Nationals 3: Jeremy Guthrie (2-6) pitched seven solid innings and Nolan Reimold's two-run homer keyed a four-run third inning for host Baltimore.
Giants 3, Athletics 0: Tim Lincecum (4-4) pitched a three-hitter as host San Francisco won its fourth straight.-- AP
