John McDonald hit a walk-off two-run home run in the 11th inning Friday night as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Tampa Bay Rays, 6-4.

McDonald connected for his first home run of the season against righthander Adam Russell (1-1).

Jose Bautista hit his fifth home run of the season and finished a single shy of the cycle, going 3-for-3, with two walks and four runs for the Jays.

McDonald entered defensively in the second after Blue Jays second baseman Jayson Nix was injured in a knee-on-knee collision with the Rays' Sean Rodriguez, who was trying to break up a double play.

Tigers 9, White Sox 3: Justin Verlander (2-2) pitched seven strong innings through a misty rain, and Ryan Raburn homered and drove in four runs to lead host Detroit, which has won seven straight over Chicago.

Rangers 11, Royals 5: Mike Napoli, Ian Kinsler, David Murphy, Adrian Beltre and Mitch Moreland all homered as host Texas benefited from the help of a brisk wind blowing out to rightfield.

Dodgers 12, Cubs 2: Juan Uribe hit a two-run homer and Andre Ethier extended his major league-best hitting streak to 19 games for visiting Los Angeles. Pinch hitter Marcus Thames added a two-run drive in the ninth as the Dodgers set season highs for runs and hits (14). Matt Kemp and Ethier reached base three times apiece, and A.J. Ellis contributed two hits and two RBIs.

"I feel real good right now," Uribe said. "Before, I wasn't hitting. Now, I'm helping my team."

The Dodgers have won five of six, including three straight since Major League Baseball seized control of the team. Commissioner Bud Selig told owner Frank McCourt on Wednesday he will appoint someone to oversee all aspects of the business and the day-to-day operations of the club.

Marlins 4, Rockies 1: Anibal Sanchez took a no-hitter into the ninth inning for host Florida before giving up a broken-bat leadoff single to Dexter Fowler.

Sanchez (1-1) struck out nine and allowed one unearned run in the bid for his second career no-hitter. He walked three, including Fowler to lead off the game. A two-out fielding error by first baseman Gaby Sanchez allowed Fowler to score.

Sanchez and Chris Coghlan homered for the Marlins, who won their fourth straight.

Brewers 14, Astros 7: Ryan Braun hit a go-ahead three-run homer in his first game since signing a five-year, $105-million extension to back Yovani Gallardo (2-1), who also homered to lift host Milwaukee.
