Mets place Mike Pelfrey on the DL

Jason Bay will have company on the disabled list.
Mets general manager Sandy Alderson announced Mike Peflrey will miss his next start and go to the DL with swelling in his right elbow.
Pitcher Robert Carson will take Pelfrey's spot on the roster. In five games at Double-A Binghamton, Carson had a 3.18 ERA and six strikeouts in 5.2 innings.
