Asking price for Mets tickets up 19 percent on secondary market
Soon enough, fans will find out whether the excitement surrounding the 2015 Mets translates to the field, but the Amazin's continue to be a bigger ticket draw than usual as the opener draws nearer.
That includes both at the team's box office, where sales are well ahead of this time last year, and on the secondary market.
TiqIQ, which monitors the resale market, said Thursday that the average asking price for tickets at Citi Field this season is $104.47, up nearly 19 percent from $87.89 at this time last year.
Demand for Yankees games is headed in the opposite direction. Compared with this time last year, the average asking price for home games is $101.43, down more than 27 percent from $139.41.
