The Mets will face the American League East in 2012, with the notable exception of the Red Sox, and an old rival with a new name: the Miami Marlins.

For their 50th anniversary season, the Mets open at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, against the Braves at Citi Field. The first round of the Subway Series against the Yankees begins in the Bronx (June 8-10) and wraps in Queens (June 22-24).

As far as the other interleague matchups, the Mets host the Orioles (June 8-10) and travel to Toronto (May 18-20) and Tampa Bay (June 12-14). In the NL East, the Phillies' first trip to Citi Field is on May 28 for a three-game series.

The Mets get their first look at the "Miami" Marlins' new retractable-roof home from May 11-13. The longest road trip of the season is an 11-game trek in 11 days through Arizona, San Francisco and San Diego (July 26-Aug. 5).

They also have a two-city, seven-game trip for a visit to Wrigley Field against the Cubs (June 25-27) and a series in Los Angeles (June 28-July 1).

The Mets finish with a six-game trip to Atlanta (Sept. 28-30) and Miami (Oct. 1-3). Some other important home dates: the Phillies on Memorial Day (May 28) and Independence Day. Both will be 1:10 p.m. starts. The Mets also will be home for Sept. 11, when they host the Nationals.
