Wright exits in 12th inning with nausea, illness
David Wright left Wednesday's game against the Astros — click here — after he singled to right field in the 12th inning.
Wright was limping after reaching first base. He was examined by trainers and limped off the field. Mike Hessman entered as a pinch-runner and replaced Wright at third base in the bottom of the 12th.
Wright told reporters after the game he started feeling sick after the fourth or fifth inning.
"I felt real nauseous and throwing up a lot," Wright said. "I didn't feel like I was helping out much."
Wright said he felt about the same after the game and plans to take some medicine to help his condition.
"If I can play I'm going to play," Wright said. "It was the fact that I didn't think I could play or do anything I could to help those guys out there."
