Chris Nelson stole home in the eighth inning as the host Colorado Rockies completed a four-game sweep and extended their winning streak to seven games with a 6-5 victory over the Cincinnati Reds Thursday.

"He was just looking right at the ground," Nelson said of pitcher Nick Masset (3-4). "He wasn't paying me any attention. [Third baseman Scott] Rolen was playing back. So I just decided I should just go ahead and go. I didn't stop."

The Reds, who lead St. Louis in the NL Central by five games, have lost five straight.

Cardinals 11, Braves 4

Colby Rasmus hit a pair of homers, Albert Pujols and Skip Schumaker also connected, and Adam Wainwright (18-10) bounced back from a shaky first inning for visiting St. Louis.

Atlanta dropped a game behind idle Philadelphia in the NL East.

Rangers 4, Blue Jays 2

Colby Lewis (10-12) won for the first time since mid-July and Mitch Moreland drove in three runs for visiting Texas.

Jose Bautista hit his major league-leading 44th home run for Toronto.

Tigers 6, White Sox 3

Johnny Damon had a season-high four hits, two runs and an RBI as host Detroit handed Chicago its third straight loss.

Police search Jays' offices

Police turned over documents in connection with the perjury case against Roger Clemens after searching the offices of the Blue Jays. Clemens pleaded not guilty last week to charges of lying to Congress about his use of performance-enhancing drugs.

Together again

When Detroit hosts Baltimore tonight, Armando Galarraga is scheduled to start for the Tigers - and umpire Jim Joyce is scheduled to be behind the plate.

"It will be no big deal," said Galarraga, who had a perfect game ruined by Joyce's bad call June 2. Said Joyce: "Apprehensive, but also kind of excited about it." - AP
