The lengthy dry spell against the Texas Rangers is finally over for the Oakland Athletics, thanks to Scott Sizemore.

Sizemore's grand slam in the sixth inning off Yoshinori Tateyama helped the A's end a nine-game skid against Texas with an 8-7 victory over the AL West-leading Rangers Saturday in Arlington.

Manager Bob Melvin was tired of losing to the A's division rival, and he let the players know how he felt after Friday night's 13-4 loss to Texas. "These guys kind of had our number," Sizemore said. "Skip [Melvin] let us know [Friday] night that we had to put that behind us."

Tateyama also allowed a grand slam to Boston's Carl Crawford last Saturday at Boston, the final batter he faced in that game. For the first time in Rangers history, a pitcher gave up grand slams to consecutive hitters.

According to research provided to the Rangers by Elias Sports Bureau, the last pitcher to allow grand slams to consecutive batters faced was Greg McCarthy of Seattle in 1998.

Blue Jays 5, Orioles 4: Pinch-hitter J.P. Arencibia hit a game-winning single with two out in the ninth as host Toronto rallied and snapped Baltimore's winning streak at three games.

White Sox 7, Indians 3: Alex Rios hit a game-ending grand slam in the 10th inning for host Chicago. Rios' one out, first-pitch shot off Chris Perez (3-7) was Chicago's first game-ending home run this season and his first career grand slam.

Rockies 12, Reds 7: Jordan Pacheco's first home run broke a fifth-inning tie and he added a two-run single in the eighth to lift host Colorado.

The Rockies hit three homers in the first two innings, knocking out Bronson Arroyo and giving him a share of a dubious Reds record. Arroyo has allowed 40 home runs, tying Eric Milton for the team's single-season mark set in 2005.
