Cameron Maybin drove in the go-ahead runs and Ryan Ludwick homered in an eight-run eighth inning, rallying the Padres to a 13-6 win over the Brewers Wednesday in Milwaukee.
San Diego racked up season highs in runs and hits (23), raising its batting average from .219 to .230.
Chris Denorfia led off the game with a homer and San Diego built an early 5-0 lead, but Milwaukee rallied with Prince Fielder's 200th homer and Yuniesky Betancourt's solo shot to lead 6-5 until the eighth.
The Padres averted a three-game sweep.
Astros 4, Reds 3: Hunter Pence hit a tiebreaking double in the ninth as the host Astros avoided a three-game sweep.
Rays 8, Indians 2: David Price (5-3) shut down baseball's hottest team without much trouble, carrying a shutout into the eighth and stopping the Indians' home winning streak at 14. Ben Zobrist and Matt Joyce homered, Sam Fuld had three hits and B.J. Upton had two RBIs as the Rays roughed up starter Carlos Carrasco (1-2) and won for only the third time in 22 games at Cleveland since 2005.
Tigers 9, Twins 7: Brandon Inge hit an RBI triple off the centerfield wall against Matt Capps (1-2) in the ninth to give the visiting Tigers their fifth win in a row.
Another rainout. Heavy rains began in Arlington, Texas, soon after the Rangers' seven-run third inning, leading to a washout against the A's. The season's 21st postponement matched the total of all last year.
