Pedro Martinez's HOF display includes Mets jersey
COOPERSTOWN -- There is a prominent Mets representation among the new displays at the Hall of Fame. Pedro Martinez's No. 45 Mets shirt is in the case with the rest of his memorabilia, which has a lot of Red Sox mementoes and a few artifacts from his days with the Expos.
The black Mets jersey was the one he wore in Cincinnati on Sept. 3, 2007, when he made his first start in nearly a year -- following rotator cuff surgery -- and struck out four batters in five innings. One of those was the 3,000th of his career. He became only the 15th in history to reach that milestone.
His display case shares a space with that of Randy Johnson, who doesn't have any keepsake from his time with the Yankees in his display.
