Report: Ruben Tejada weighing grievance against Mets

Shortstop Ruben Tejada, who has fallen out of favor with the Mets, is reportedly considering a grievance against the club for intentionally delaying his free agency by one season.
According to a Yahoo! Sports report published on Sunday night, the potential grievance stems from the Mets' decision to delay Tejada's planned September call-up, a move that kept him one day short of earning enough service time to become a free agent in 2016.
Because the Mets stalled his promotion, Tejada won't be a free agent until 2017.
Tejada, 24, hit just .202 during a season marred by injuries and a stint in the minors. He began the season as the starting shortstop. He ended it without a role, with the Mets openly searching for a replacement at shortstop, whether by trade or in the free agent market.
A representative for Tejada declined comment.
