WASHINGTON - Edwin Rodriguez has enjoyed his first three months as Florida Marlins manager, and he'd like to have a chance at the full-time job.

Rodriguez was hired as the interim manager when Fredi Gonzalez was fired on June 23. After the Marlins considered Bobby Valentine, Rodriguez was hired as the manager for the rest of the season on June 29.

The first Puerto Rican to manage in the majors, Gonzalez had a 37-33 record entering yesterday's game against the Nationals.

Rodriguez says that he's been given "no indication" whether he'll be back in 2011, but says Marlins management told him they like what he's doing as manager. - AP
