Rose won't be in Cooperstown this year

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. - Pete Rose, who usually sells his autograph a couple of doors down the street from baseball's Hall of Fame museum on induction weekend, is absent this year.
Employees at the store at which he always signs said Friday that Rose had "prior commitments." Rose's longtime agent, Warren Greene, did not return a message seeking comment.
Rose, 69, stayed away from Cooperstown for four consecutive induction weekends after he admitted to commissioner Bud Selig in 2002 that he bet on baseball. But with no movement on his reinstatement, Rose returned to Cooperstown in 2007 for three straight years before missing this weekend.
