After a week in which the Mets traded two of their top run-producers, Marlon Byrd and John Buck, and lost ace Matt Harvey until possibly the 2015 season, Sandy Alderson believed it was necessary to address season-ticket holders.
The general manager sent out an email Thursday night thanking fans for their support and saying "the trade was the right decision as part of our plan moving forward."
Alderson said Harvey's elbow injury is a "disappointment" but something "all good teams experience and must overcome."
