Johan Santana's no-hitter was sooooo last week.

Once again, Johnny Vander Meer's record of two consecutive no-hitters is safe. After hurling the first no-no in Mets history last Friday, Santana got bombed by the Yankees this Friday. But it's not just the Mets ace who experienced a big letdown after his historic moment. The game after a no-hitter is often a mixed bag for pitchers.

There have been six no-hitters thrown since the beginning of the 2011 season. Here's how each pitcher did in his no-hitter and the start following it:

Johan Santana
June 1, 2012: 9 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 5 BB, 8 SO, 0 HR
June 8, 2012: 5 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 1 BB, 5 SO, 4 HR

Jered Weaver
May 2, 2012: 9 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 9 SO, 0 HR
May 7, 2012: 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 SO, 0 HR

Philip Humber (perfect game)
April 21, 2012: 9 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 SO, 0 HR
April 26, 2012: 5 IP, 8 H, 9 R, 9 ER, 3 BB, 5 SO, 3 HR

Ervin Santana
July 27, 2011: 9 IP, 0 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 10 SO, 0 HR
Aug. 2, 2011: 9 IP, 8 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 SO, 0 HR

Justin Verlander
May 7, 2011: 9 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO, 0 HR
May 13, 2011: 8 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 7 SO, 0 HR

Francisco Liriano
May 3, 2011: 9 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 6 BB, 2 SO, 0 HR
May 10, 2011: 3 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 1 SO, 1 HR

Some pitchers use the performance as a springboard to continued success. Others plummet.

These six pitchers combined for a 5.50 ERA in the start after their no-hitter. They went from a 3.00 strikeout to walk ratio (42/14) during the no-hitter to a 1.92 ratio (27/14) in the next start.
